yippee skippy!

ok, after another malfunction with my camera, i have bitten the bullet & bought a brand spankin new canon 40D. i am super excited! but nervous...this was a big purchase for me. i want to do it justice! i just try to remember a little quote i recently read..."It's not the camera, but who's behind the camera."

sunny daze ahead...

ok, so i think i've found my ray of light. i've been talking about doing some more artistic photography & i've had much encouragement from my talented friend, joey to get out there & just DO IT. i've got several concepts i'm working with & a few models i am planning on shooting for these stories. which is sort of more what they are...stories. there are 2 i've really been working to cast because the ideas are so distinct. but i've had a few other more conceptual ideas floating around in my brain that i think will unfold even more when i start to shoot them. but i have a fun little model who's popped up & ready to shoot whenever i get it together, and the more i talk to her, the more i realize the direction i want to go in shooting her. since the beginning i have wanted to shoot something with the concept from the children's song, 'you are my sunshine'. the original thought was to shoot it with a child...but now, my thoughts are taking me elsewhere with it. the more i look at her photos, the more i realize she might just be the sunshine i'm looking for to execute this. stay tuned...

i am so thrilled at all the great wardrobe items i got last week. i hit the motherload at my mom's. (ha ha pun intended) & got some fantastic vintage items. NOW i can start to see the visual even more...it just starts to fall together...

i plan to just keep on fallin baby...rollin with the punches ;-)

i had a major camera malfunction today. um...panic. luckily, josie's mom & pop had a camera that was similar to mine, so i was able to pick it up & get a few sweet shots of her. i thought i'd share...

fun little diddy for those of you who love polaroids

ok, so i found this nifty little site you can download very easily...(& so far spam free) to take any photos you have & convert them into a realistic poloaroid pic. it so fun! you can even shake it like a polaroid pict-cha!! i'm sure you can do this on numerous editing sites, but this one pulls up the camera & even makes that fantasmic sound of the print coming out of the camera. and if you shake it...it will come to life :-)

i am full of hope. hope & excitement about what my new work is going to bring. the ideas running through my mind are doing just that. running. running though my brain 24/7. hell these ideas seem to be running a marathon in my dreams. i can't even sleep i'm so ready to execute these projects. WARM WEATHER GET HERE!! i feel like this is THE YEAR. doors are going to open & my work is going to change & grow. through my own education and through collaboration. there is nothing more kismit then a great collaboration...and i see it happening. friends are meeting. introductions are happening. it is going to be positive for all involoved and i cannot wait to work these projects & be amazed at the finished projects. so i can look back at my work & say...wow...i did that!
