bovine baby #2

i had the pleasure of shooting the bovine's in the fall & got some really fantastic shots of them with their daughter lily. at the time mom mentioned to me she was pregnant with their second in the spring, so i was thrilled when they called me to photograph the newest member of the family, kathryn. it is the neatest thing to watch families grow. & now they have not one, but 2 sweet girls. these are just a couple of my many favorites...i don't want to reveal too much since an announcement photo is lurking amongst my photos from the day :-) ps-look at all that hair!!

harper's big sister

today i shot a dear friend's birth announcement for her 2nd baby girl, harper tatum. i'm not revealing harper on my blog since her announcement has not gone out yet. but i got some beautiful shots of big sis hadley, who is one smart cookie! she's got her daddy's eyes & all her mama's sass. i can't wait to post the pics of the two of them together...

what a beautiful day to be engaged :-)

today i shot shannon & ross's engagement photos...which was easy, considering what an adorable couple they are. NOT to mention it's clear they are madly in love and that transcended very easily to my photographs.that kind of love is infectious and i wanted to capture it! i feel like i was able to do that. out of all the weddings, families & babies i have photographed-i had never done a true engagement session & it was such a great experience. it's kind of got me thinkin this might just be another venue i want to pursue...

it's coming back...

my inspiration. i feel it creeping back in :-) i've had alot going on personally & it's really affected my excitement about my work. i was having camera issues THEN lens issues & have been pretty frustrated by the whole situation. but today i used my new camera with my new lens...and i could see clearly all the new things i am going to create with these magic makin tools. that anguish i put upon myself while making choices about how i was going to remedy my situation is finally starting to lift. as i think about what i'm going to be able to do now :-)

back in the swing of things...

saturday was such a BEAUTIFUL day to shoot! i enjoy photographing people i don't know. it's always an interesting view from the lens when you're just meeting someone & you have this fresh view of who they are. BUT when i am able to shoot people i have known since grade school, with their families-it's extra special. to take photos of someone i have known since i was a kid, with their kids...simply put, it's just a cool thing.

luckily, my new camera has arrived :-)
sadly, my really nice lens has croaked. thankfully, i had a friend loan me a lens so i could shoot on. unfortunately, i think i'm going to have to buy a new lens.

i've had a lot going on recently, so maybe it's good to have a little time to get things straight with my lens. hopefully, my creative vibe will be back in full effect by then so i can begin working on the planned projects. i have a feeling i'll have the issue addressed quickly, since i feel naked without my camera! until then, i hope you enjoy a few of my favorite pics from saturday :-)
