more seniors

i've had a couple of senior sessions in the past few weeks & they have been so much fun! the majority of my business is with families & smaller children-which i love. but i also really dig senior photos. every session is so unique, whether it's a little one or a teen. but with teenagers it becomes more like hanging out. i'm pretty laid back in general, but the more relaxed i am, the more relaxed they become & then the fun really starts :-)

more maternity

i had such a great time working with this family-they were so sweet! and there is something really special about maternity photos, i have always had a fondness for shooting them. when i worked on editing this session, the love they all shared was just so obvious. nothing makes me happier than being able to convey that through the images :-)

sunny senior photos

ok, i'm going to try to get back to blogging about each session i shoot. when i have a busy week, it's harder to do...but amelia, the senior i worked with this week was so awesome, i had to share some of her photos! not only is she cute as can be, she was so much fun. lots of laughing going on. which i'm all about. her mom came to the first half off her session & her boyfriend came with her to the second half & they were great accomplices :-)

i'm so happy it's finally spring

i feel like all winter long i was just waiting for the spring to get here. for the longer days and the warmer light. now that it's here, i am thankful i am staying busy. but it makes blogging feel like a chore and i hate that! when i am on the computer editing my lil heart out on a constant basis, the last thing i seem to want to do is write. i go through phases where i really enjoy writing and at other times i dread it. i also write a lot of posts that never get published. shocking, i know!
so anywho, i'm going to quit writing now & instead post a little taste of some of my recent spring shoots.

i adore this shot i snapped at the end of a senior session of mom & daughter.

keith patrick was so dapper i could hardly stand it!

let the light in

so last week before we left for our belated honeymoon to jamaica we had insanely good weather here in ky. i still haven't gotten to play with my new lens much, so i used the great light & temperature to snap a few pics of my daughter in our living room. i just opened up the front door and let in the light :-)

sweetness times two!

i was so excited to have a newborn shoot scheduled for today...for twins! jaxon & jagger were too sweet & cooperated perfectly for little guys who are less than 2 weeks old. i got so many great shots, but i especially love this last one of the boys with their daddy.

first pinterest project complete!

like so many other people i know right now, i am ALL into pinterest. there are so many great ideas & creative things on there...it's hard not to be inspired! my first attempt at getting crafty turned out much better than i expected.

i wanted to try these because i thought it could be something i could offer my clients if i could get good at it. they are photo coasters! and they really did turn out pretty cool. my mother-in-law helped me with them since she had worked with resin before. after some trial & error (& using WAY too much product when we first started), i think we actually got it down.

i don't agree with how cheap the original pinner claimed it was to make these, but i have no doubt since i've only made them once, i will be able to fine tune it in time.

i am pretty excited to have something fun & different to offer my clients :-)

here is a photo of my first attempt. i did not take these photos of vivian. these are from her one year session in december with michael stepp. he is located in east louisville and has a fantastic studio set up in his basement that i'm totally jealous of. i'm going to make round 2 next week with some of my previous work so i can sharpen my coaster making skills even more!
