finally.

i feel my inspiration creeping back! hallelujah! i was starting to worry it would never be back. partially, i can thank christian because i had such an easy time with her today. i hadn't done any maternity photos in awhile and she was interested in something more unconventional. so i really had to think about trying different things. some of it didn't work, which is fine because some of it did & those, i love! and the process was good for me creatively to push myself. i really hope i achieved what she wanted out of the shots. i forgot how much i enjoy photographing the mamas to be. it's such a neat moment to capture, to think that in a few short days, a whole new person will be here. especially when it's a first baby. and i think about how it's the home stretch before their entire lives will change forever with a new kind of love. the kind that everyone says you don't experience until you see your own child. that inspires me.

i also had a great shoot with catherine, my 'sweet chubby monkey' baby. i have always had the business motto within myself that if ever i was not satisfied with the product of a shoot, i would offer to re-shoot the session. when i photographed her the first time, a couple of weeks ago, she was tired & not in the mood for pictures. luckily, i still got some really nice family photos & i got a couple of her by herself that i truly loved. but it just felt like there needed to be more of catherine since these were her 6 month pictures. i am so glad i did because she was in good spirits & i got some sweet shots of her :-)
